That's a BIG Bobbin!

I collected all the fiber samples I received from the last three months worth of the Phat Fiber Sample Boxes, carded them together into three gorgeous batts and spun them all on my Lendrum. I like to spin using my jumbo flier and the nice big bobbins. I decided to weigh this one after it was full to see how much the bobbin could hold. I actually think I could have gotten a bit more on it, but I ran out of fiber. The bobbin itself weighs 6 ounces, so I deducted that from the total weight and I was amazed to see that it weighed in at exactly 8 ounces of handspun! Now I need to decide how to ply it. It's really pretty fiber from all of the Phat Fiber Posse, and even though there were so many different colors, they look great together!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend, Happy Fiber Arts Friday! Blessings Friends!

  1. tehehe, I can only get 8oz on mine too. Once I got almost 9oz but I was really struggling at the end.

The yarn is beautiful...what a great idea blending all of the samples together.

  3. Wow, how cool did that turn out. I know I can't get 8 oz on one of my little bobbins. If I keep up with the art yarns, I'm going to have to get another wheel!

    Happy Fiber Arts Friday!!

  4. Great idea and very pretty yarn. I would ply it with four different colors, white, brown yellow and green. Then knit something in big stripes. Trim maybe in a contrast color. Love your yarns.

  5. All the colors came together beautifully! They almost look worthy of staying single ply but I am curious to see what new and exciting pattern would take up plied.

  7. I'm once again with Dutch Hollow - I'd be tempted to leave it single ply - that's some awesomely colored fiber spinning!
